Why we named it Zari

What does “Zari” mean?

Across South Asia, Zari refers to the fine gold or silver threads woven into silk and cotton — delicate strands that transform fabric into heirlooms traditionally worn at weddings, festivals, and family celebrations. More than decoration, Zari represents artistry, patience, and heritage — a shimmer of tradition that has carried through generations.

A name is never just a name. It carries history and meaning. When we called this frame Zari, it was to honor a tradition of beauty and craft — and to carry that legacy into something modern you can wear every day. 

The Zari frame was born from the idea of translating the delicacy of gold thread into a bold design that can be incorporated into everyday.  Its fine lines echo embroidery’s shimmer, and its curves reflect the care of a craftsperson’s hand.
